Website visitors

Like most website operators, we collect non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Our purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how visitors use our website.

We also collect potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for users completing forms on our website. We only disclose logged in user IP addresses under the same circumstances that we use and disclose personally-identifying information as described below.

Not all the personal and credit information we hold about you will always come directly from you. We may also collect information from third parties such as our partners, credit service providers and publicly available websites (i.e. social media platforms), to comply with credit underwriting, legal and regulatory obligations.

How we use this information

The prime purpose of collecting this information is for the application, provision and management of credit related financial products and services. The processing of such information is considered necessary in order to:-

  • Fully understand your needs and assess your individual, personal and financial circumstances with respect to the underwriting of a credit facility.
  • Verify the accuracy of your personal and financial information, including disclosure of such information to third parties, e.g. third-party credit reference agencies.
  • Approach third party lenders on your behalf in order to try and obtain a suitable credit facility.
  • Establish internal records for the provision of business operations and services.
  • Fulfil legal and regulatory obligations. We may be required to use and retain personal and financial information for legal and compliance reasons, such as the prevention, detection and identification of money laundering and the financing of terrorism.
  • Meet our internal and external audit requirements, information security purposes, and as we otherwise believe to be necessary or appropriate under applicable law and to respond to requests from courts, law enforcement agencies, regulatory authorities, and other public and government authorities.

How information is shared

By providing personal information to us as part of the application for credit facilities, you fully understand and expressly consent to the processing of that data as described within this policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not apply for any of the available credit products and services.

Online applications:

Prior to submitting an application for one of our credit products you will be asked to confirm your permission to continue based upon the conditions set out in this document by your completion of a tick box. Upon acceptance the data will be forwarded to us. Should you be unwilling to accept this Privacy Policy at that point, the application will not be forwarded and you will be free to discard without any further interaction with Qi Finance.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you, as a data subject have a number of rights which are detailed below. Some of these only apply in specific circumstances and are qualified in several respects by exemptions in data protection legislation. We will advise you in our response to your request if we are relying on any such exemptions.

Other useful privacy & data security related matters

Record retention

We retain personal information for as long as we reasonably require it for legal or business purposes. For the jurisdictions in which operate, and subject to us not having a legal or regulatory requirement, or a risk management reason for retaining your information for a longer period, your information will not be kept for longer than 6 years following that date on which your relationship with us ceases. We will take all necessary steps to ensure that the privacy of information is maintained for the period of retention.
